# Move to Rinhelp with your AI agent

Your AI agent moves your help desk to Rinhelp for you. You connect the agent and paste in one prompt, and it brings over your help center articles, saved replies and past conversations, then helps you switch your email and chat widget. Importing is free: it never emails your customers, Rin never answers what comes in, and nothing counts toward your plan.

## Who does what

- **You** connect your AI agent to Rinhelp as an owner (see [Connect your AI agent](https://docs.rinhelp.com/articles/98a0def1-a07d-4c34-9f19-4d168626b40c-connect-your-ai-agent)), and give the agent read access to your old help desk, such as an API token or an OAuth app. Your old help desk’s page on rinhelp.com/migrate says which. Only an owner can import.
- **Your AI agent** reads the old help desk, sends everything to Rinhelp, and tells you what it did after each step.

Before any change that moves where customers reach you, such as your email or chat widget, the agent asks you first.

## Chat app or coding agent

A chat app, such as Claude or ChatGPT, can import your articles and saved replies, add your website, and make the switch. To bring over every past conversation with its files, use a coding agent that can run commands, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. If you start in a chat app, it tells you which steps to run in a coding agent.

## What moves and what stays

Comes across:

- Help center articles and sections, in your default language, with their images, dates and draft or published state
- Saved replies, also called macros, templates or canned responses
- Past conversations with their customers, messages, notes and files

Stays behind:

- Saved reply actions, attachments and subjects
- Files over 50 MB
- Spam and trash

## The steps

The agent first counts what you have and estimates how long it will take, then asks before it starts. Then:

1. [Import your help center articles](/articles/a79b3172-a803-44a2-9236-0ab73d56b051-import-your-help-center-articles)
2. [Import saved replies](/articles/5d8f8400-2a36-4974-a646-c9f04a41361d-import-saved-replies)
3. Add your website, so Rin learns from it
4. [Import past conversations](/articles/7e85f2b0-336d-4774-850a-826951d9585c-import-past-conversations)
5. Switch over: invite your teammates, [switch your support email to Rinhelp](/articles/44c7935d-ccee-409b-83ac-fa4e5f762eb0-switch-your-support-email-to-rinhelp), [replace your chat widget](/articles/031f9d71-579b-4229-8f50-3eee8e31c277-replace-your-chat-widget), and [keep your old help center links working](/articles/ba9cf0f3-9740-4c90-9ca5-7a9a0ef0b450-keep-your-old-help-center-links-working)
6. Catch up on the conversations that came in while you moved

At the end, the agent tells you the move is done and lists everything it skipped or dropped.

## Get the prompt

Find the page for your help desk at [rinhelp.com/migrate](https://rinhelp.com/migrate). It has the prompt to paste into your AI agent.
